Questions & FAQs
Why can't I request a personal Alias?
Zendesk IT discovered a technical limitation with aliases that have been used by a previously employed user. This has uncovered some serious issues within Zendesk systems, as the previously employed user's name is systematically re-activated. A retired user account can link with an activated one, which causes issues with mail filtering, security, and puts us out of the compliance requirements that we have promised to uphold.
I have a personal alias already. Will that be taken away?
No. We will assess each existing alias based on the criteria above, but we will only need to revoke an alias in rare circumstances.
My colleague has a personal alias, can I have one as well?
You cannot have a personal alias. You can, however, still use the additional information in this article to request the creation of a group, or utilize the " + " alias trick here.
